Position Summary
International Ministries is seeking a strategic, creative non-profit advancement professional to lead the funding efforts of the organization. The Chief Advancement Officer in partnership with the Executive Director/CEO will work with individuals, churches, and associations within the American Baptist Churches, USA and beyond. The Chief Advancement Officer will manage a capital campaign to secure the ongoing funding of International Ministries and lead outreach with potential grants and corporate philanthropic funding. The Chief Advancement Officer will have a broad scope of responsibility in the supervision/coordination of the Development, Marketing, and Event staff of 10 and serve as a key advocate/guide for missionary/global servant fundraising. The successful candidate will be an effective communicator and is expected to work in a manner with donors, prospects, and peers that exhibits purpose, collaboration, and understanding of the unique mission of IM. The Chief Advancement Officer will be collaborative and vision-driven with the IM team as they work to secure funding for IM. The Chief Advancement Officer will be expected to be skilled in all areas of Advancement and demonstrate an exceptional capacity to understand and represent IM’s important relational focus of work.
Responsibilities and Qualifications
Donor Acquisition and Management
The Chief Advancement Officer will be responsible for all donor activities. In collaboration with the CIO, the Chief Advancement Officer will work with the existing base of support, analyze the data and look for untapped opportunities.
The Chief Advancement Officer will give overall direction to the Development team (Development Director, Development Projects Manager, Marketing and Communications Director, Mission Partnership Coordinator, and three Donor Advisors).
The Chief Advancement Officer will be responsible for the overall donor strategy and understanding and guiding the development team with all types of gifts and donor opportunities.
The Chief Advancement Officer directs the efforts to support Global Servants in their support and fundraising programs.
The Chief Advancement Officer will be the lead in the ongoing use and development of Salesforce.
Capital Campaign Management
The Chief Advancement Officer will work with the current Endowment Campaign consultant to coordinate various solicitations among the team and complete a successful $100 Million campaign to endow the ongoing operations of IM.
Grants/Corporate Funding
The Chief Advancement Officer will assess the current capacity of the development team to search for, write, and monitor a grant outreach program for IM and develop a plan for active solicitation of grants.
The Chief Advancement Officer will work with the corporate funding consultant to construct an active program of corporate solicitation for support. This will involve the development of a corporate case for support, corporate outreach, and active engagement with potential corporate partners.

Compensation and Benefits
The salary for this position is $130,000 and includes a wide range of benefits, including retirement, health, and generous time off.
