Organizational Overview

Ascendigo Autism Services, Inc. is a nationally recognized nonprofit organization that enhances the lives of children and adults living with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and related intellectual and developmental disabilities. Ascendigo achieves this through a variety of programs - outdoor/sports education, employment supports, life skills instruction, community integration, behavioral therapy in schools, homes, the Ascendigo center, and community and professional trainings.

Ascendigo is headquartered in Carbondale, Colorado – 45 minutes from Aspen and an hour from Vail Valley. Ascendigo provides programming to nearly 250 individuals with autism locally and nationally, regardless of disability presentation and across the lifespan. Ascendigo's mission is to elevate the spectrum by empowering people, inspiring lives and shattering expectations. This mission is currently supported by 45 full and part-time staff members (with an additional 40 seasonal employees during the summer), a board of 13, a revenue budget of $5.9 million, and an experienced executive leadership team of five.

This year marks Ascendigo's 20th anniversary as one of the top nonprofits in the greater Aspen community. Ascendigo begins its third decade of service by finishing the buildout of a permanent 14,000 square foot center in Carbondale with customized space for programs and administrative offices (see “capital campaign” at Ascendigo.org)

Ascendigo’s goal is to integrate people with autism into their community across all life domains through teaching meaningful skills and creating joyful, real-life experiences. With a proprietary “Ascendigo Way” values system of practice and an extensive training curriculum, the organization educates both internal and external stakeholders to foster compassionate, person-centered support and connections. Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability
Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability Form CC-305

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way.
